Cross-Grip Shido or Continuous Attack?

Another classic showdown between Ezio Gamba and Juan Barcos. Actually in this case, it's Gamba vs Barcos, Jan Snijders, Daniel Lascau, Vladimir Barta and Armen Bagdasarov -- all of whom think no shido is warranted for the cross grip. Their rationale is that the Blue fighter is attack and moving forward in a positive action. So, no shido.

Gamba, however, feels that because Blue was holding on to the cross grip for several seconds, it warrants a shido (the rules call for an "immediate" attack when adopting a cross grip). According to Gamba, immediately means immediately. No exception.

Watch the exchange. Sometimes, it gets testy. It's all very interesting though.
