-60kg Draw Analysis

Click here to see the draw for the -60kg division.

In Pool A, Japan's defending World Champion Naohisa Takato looks like he has a clear run to the top of the pool.

In Pool B, the likely winner is Russia's Beslan Mudranov but he might face strong opposition from Azerbaijan's Orkhan Safarov.

Takato and Mudranov fought twice in 2013 and both times Takato won. Mudranov will have home turf advantage but Takato is likely to get through.

In Pool C, Georgia's big thrower Amiran Papinashvili is likely to emerge the pool winner.

In Pool D, the top favorite is Mongolia's Ganbat Boldbaatar.

Papinashvili and Ganbat have fought four times and the Mongolian won three of those. The one time the Georgian emerged victorious was way back in 2010. The Mongolian is likely to go through.

I'm predicting a Takato vs Ganbat final. These two have fought four times, with the Japanese winning three of those encounters. All indications are that Takato, who is growing from strength to strength, will win his second world title.
