Koga vs 100 (Ippon-Seoi-Nage)

After he had retired from competition, the legendary Toshihiko Koga took part in an unusual exhibition competition called Koga vs 100, where he was supposed to fight 100 players in one day.

The players were not top competitors of course. In fact they weren't even competitors although some were black belts. Some though were entertainers and celebrities. He threw most of them for ippon but in the end had to abort the competition before he could reach 100 due to doctor's orders (apparently he was dehydrated).

In the course of the competition, he through many with his trademark standing ippon-seoi-nage. But he also surprised many by throwing with techniques he's not normally associated with. I will be posting some of those clips in the coming days. But for this posting, let's be reminded of what made Koga so famous.
